Dennis Via

Dennis Via is a member of the SRC board of trustees. He is a retired U.S. Army 4-Star General and currently serves as an executive vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton, overseeing corporate engagement.

As an executive vice president in Booz Allen’s global defense group, Via led multi-year market-driven growth strategies, strategic planning, risk assessment and mitigation, crisis management and international security cooperation. He is also the chair of global and ethics compliance. During his final assignment with the U.S. Army, Via led the largest global logistics enterprise in the Department of Defense. He is the first and only commissioned Signal Corps Officer in U.S. Army history to achieve the rank of 4-Star General.

In addition to his position on SRC’s board of trustees, Via serves as an independent director on the board of Milliken & Company and was a former independent director of the board of Splunk, Inc. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, an executive board member at AFCEA, a senior fellow at the Association of the Army and a director on the boards of Capital Partners for Education, The Army Historical Foundation and the Virginia State University Board of Visitors.
