SRC is committed to supporting the chemical hazard and risk assessment needs of Government and commercial organizations responsible for the evaluation of occupational and environmental hazards. For more than 20 years, SRC has provided data collection and evaluation services in the environmental sciences to:
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
- National Library of Medicine
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration
- Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry
- Department of Defense
SRC has prepared over 4,000 technical reviews on hundreds of chemicals and chemical classes, making SRC one of the most experienced, non-Government, not-for-profit specialists in chemical hazard assessment. Technical strengths of SRC in health and environmental sciences include:
- Development and application of advanced concepts in quantitative exposure and risk assessment for single chemicals and mixtures
- Critical review and analysis of toxicological and environmental literature
- Development of environmental and toxicological data bases
SRC develops toxicology and human health hazard reviews for Government and commercial clients. These reviews derive quantitative assessments of exposure, toxicokinetics, and dose-response relationships from animal and human data to estimate health risks to human populations, and to characterize uncertainties and research needs. SRC’s toxicology staff has prepared assessments on thousands of chemicals, including high-priority single substances and chemical mixtures. In addition, SRC has extensive expertise in ecological risk assessment, risk assessment methodology development, development of probabilistic exposure and biokinetic models, and new approaches to dose-response modeling. These capabilities have materially improved the health of the nation’s citizens and continue to allow our customers access to the latest concepts and methodologies in human health and ecological risk assessment.
